SHOP MOST POPULAR INDUSTRIALS

An industrial piercing is any two pierced holes connected with a straight barbell. Most of the time, the industrial piercing is diagonal across the ear.

Common gauges, lengths, and jewelry: The most common gauge to get pierced with is a 14GA. The most popular piece of jewelry to put in your Industrial would be a straight barbell that has two externally threaded balls at the end.

Straight 14GA barbells come in a ton of different lengths, all depending on your ear size. A little tip: don’t put in a barbell that is too tight for your ear, you’re just asking for an infection to happen.

The two externally threaded balls at the end of the barbell can be changed to almost anything. For example: a diamond, a coloured ball, etc. Straight barbells aren’t necessarily the only piece of jewelry that can be put in your Industrial piercing; you can even put a hoop in each piercing hole, or even two studs, as long as the barbell is the right gauge.

Materials:

Surgical stainless steel is the material that you are pierced with, so it’s recommended that you stick with that material when changing around your jewelry.

Other common materials are titanium, silver, and gold. Some materials are not hypoallergenic, so it’s advised that you do your research on a material before using it, knowing of any skin allergies or reactions that may occur.

Aftercare: how to clean your piercing

Cleaning your piercing is the most important thing when trying to avoid infection and to speed up the healing process.

The area must be kept clean and avoid touching or playing around with piercing. For at least six months, you should be taking good care of your piercing, but duration time always varies within skin types and how your skin reacts to the piercing. Remember, some piercings heal faster than others.

The industrial piercing usually takes a little longer to heal. As it involved two piercings in one, it is more painful than other piercings. The Industrial usually takes from six months to a year to heal completely. It’s natural for your ear to be sore for the duration of the healing time, but touching it can make the piercing irritated, which can prolong the healing process.

It is important to follow aftercare instructions. Getting a Q-tip or a cotton swab and cleaning around the pierced area with solution such as H2Ocean, can clean your Industrial piercing. The cleaning procedure must repeat 2-3 times a day.
